A dozen abandoned armchairs in a row. Old and dilapidated, they are progressively overgrown with grass and reed, until finally only the contours remain. The image is reminiscent of an observation post or a place where the last inhabitants gathered to watch people trudge by: all those who had had enough; who had given up, left, fled.

Exodus will be exhibited in the Weerribben from May 2005 to February 2006, along with works by other artists. Exodus will be displayed among a wealth of reeds along the eastern side of Hoogeweg.
