No matter how original it may look… The dune landscape along the Dutch coast was shaped entirely by generations of human interference. The dunes were constructed, the grass was planted and the scrub is maintained. Even the cattle are exotic. 'Silo with dune' symbolises the years of man's manipulation of this area. The old, worn-out, discarded silo is the inescapable proof of man's influence on these surroundings. At the same time it shows how we treat our landscape.
