It makes you feel dizzy. The image from the bridge deck imposes itself unexpectedly on the cyclist and the walker. First the blue sky with the text, then the green canopy of foliage. After some ten metres the leaves merge into a blue sky again. A few more steps and the cyclist mounts his bike again and the walker walks on, further into the land.

Here at this spot is an expression of art within the international project Moor-is-more. For those willing to see, there are several meanings to discover. The work of art connects Holland with Germany and is symbolic of the contacts between the people living in the border area. At the same time a reflection of the foliage roof and the air gives an impression of a possible future. The image, therefore, is unfocused and blurred; not an actual recording but rather an impression of air and leaves. The world is upside-down, for that which the spectator sees on the bridge deck is the picture which one gets when one looks up. But 'Here a this spot' is first and foremost an element of surprise in the silent, retiring border area between Nieuw-Schoonebeek and Twist-Bült.

Here at this spot was commissioned by the municipality of Emmen and decorates the border bridge in the walking and cycling route between Twist-Bült and Nieuw- Schoonebeek. The design was co-inspired by the landscape and the history of this region as told by several of its inhabitants.
This project was financed with support from the European Commission.
